  • Pray For Me, a faith-based psychological horror film, is the story of a family struggling to maintain faith. They battle aspects of mental illness, proving to be possession, as evil enters their lives.

  • There is a huge appetite for faith and thriller based content - notable films including: The Paranormal Activity Franchise ($890,417,130), The Shack ($96,942,115) and The Passion of the Christ (611,486,736). In addition, the last three years has seen the thriller genre alone gross over $1.53B USD in sales. 

  • Pray For Me appeals to demographics that enjoy both faith and thriller based content. This movie has been made with powerful biblical authenticity and psychological intensity. It is a film that will appeal to a broad global audience

  • The film has been shot. It is now in the final stages of Post-Production. This provides a great opportunity of becoming involved early in the project with less of the risk associated with production

  • $3.58 Million dollars were previously raised for the production budget. We are now raising up to $7.5 Million dollars for the marketing, print and ad budget. The purpose of which is to distribute throughout the US and Canada.

G. Scott Paterson

Scott Paterson is an executive producer of the film. Scott was an early investor in Lionsgate Entertainment when it was founded in 1997. He served as a Board member for 21 years including as Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee for 15 years and today serves as a Director of Lions Gate Entertainment Canada Corp which is currently a $3.8 Billion company. 


DamiAn Lee

Damian Lee, with an illustrious career in Hollywood that spans over 30 years, has written, directed and produced over 50 feature films. With budgets totaling over 200 million dollars, he’s worked as a writer and director with Sony Entertainment, Universal, ABC and Lionsgate. Damian’s brought you films with award-winning actors such as Kiefer Sutherland, Forest Whittaker, Eva Longoria, Charles Bronson, Roy Schieder, Jim Carey and Andy Garcia. He’s also brought you some outstanding comedies such as National Lampoon's Last Resort and the cult-classic Ski School.


Lara Daans

Lara Daans has been a performer since the age of three. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, and had her professional debut on stage at nine years old in Ross Petty’s Panto, Cinderella, subsequently appearing in both Aladdin and Jack and the Beanstalk. 

Her extensive feature film credits include lead roles in A Dark Truth opposite Andy Garcia; Hearts of War with Nina Dobre; the female lead in King of Sorrow co-starring Kim Coates. She won Best Actress for this role at the AOF Film Festival in Los Angeles.

In her directorial debut, Viaticum, a short film based on a story written by acclaimed novelist Maureen Jennings had a successful festival run winning many awards.

Recently Lara co-wrote the screenplay for the faith-based thriller, Pray for Me which she also starred in. She just completed a leading role in the comedy Superdicks alongside Kim Coates and Marie Avgeropoulos

 
 

These three industry professionals joined forces to create the exciting new movie Pray For Me. Scott and Damian, and Lara worked together on everything from the script to production, to post-production. They are extremely excited about the opportunity Pray For Me represents.

 

 RoadMap

  • 1. SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT

    The process by which a story or concept is developed into a written script. The script may go through anywhere from 5-15 different drafts before it is camera ready.

  • 2. PRODUCTION BUDGET

    The amount of money that will be required to complete the production of the script. This includes pre-production; production; post-production.

  • 3. PRE-PRODUCTION

    Preparations for filming, including finalizing the script, casting the actors, hiring the crew, finding locations, booking equipment and closing the financing.

  • 4. PRODUCTION

    The tasks that must be completed during filming. This includes shooting the scenes within the script at various locations, creating and captuing the footage needed for the film.

  • 5. POST-PRODUCTION

    An editor cuts the picture to the best of its potential. The sound work is then done which includes editing the dialogue, composing the score and adding audio effects, then mixing all these elements together.

  • 6. MARKETING BUDGET

    The activities and strategies used to promote and attract audiences to the film. This includes trailers, posters, social media and other marketing methods.

  • 7. DISTRIBUTION

    A process that consists of distributing the film, that is making it available either in theaters, streaming, pay-per view, on demand or television.

  • 8. THEATRICAL RELEASE

    To make a film commercially available to consumers in a cinema or theater. This can also involve film festivals, private screenings or a premiere.

  • 9. STREAMING PLATFORM

    Making a film available on a variety of streaming services, where the consumer can watch on-demand from a wide selection of movies, TV or other content.
